About Dhingra Family Foundation
Dhingra
family Faundation, USA is a non-profit charitable trust. It received
501(c)(3) designation from IRS in September 2014. It provides financial
assistance to non-profit organizations in USA and non government
organizations (NGOs) abroad in the field of education, health,
sanitation & hygiene, Hindi language and literature. It is registered in
the state of North Carolina and was founded in Morrisville, North
Carolina, on December 31st, 2013.
Dhingra family
has been supporting education of children through Pratham, USA and Ekal
Vidyalaya Foundation, USA for over 10 years. Starting in 2014, Dhingra
Foundation is supporting the education and completion of high school of
100 high school dropouts girls from underprivileged families in
Bicchiwara district in the State of Rajasthan, India through Pratham,
USA. In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Neofusion Creative Foundation is running an
education and vocational school for the children of women who work as
maids. The children are provided remedial education and learn painting,
dance and theater. Dhingra Foundation is funding this project.
Dhingra
Foundation is collaborating with Clean and Healthy India Promotional
International, USA (CHIP-IN) in the area of sanitation and hygiene. Our
first project is a pilot program in 30 villages in Udiapur, Rajasthan,
India. It is focused on raising the awareness that poor sanitation and
hygiene causes most of the diseases of the childhood.
NCIAP, a
non-profit organization located in North Carolina, is providing low cost
health care to uninsured parents visiting from India and local
residents. Dhingra Foundation is supporting NCIAP.
Dhingra
Foundation is sponsoring a one-year computer training certificate
program for underprivileged girls with high school education. PC Lab, a
computer training center in Sehore, Madhay Pradesh, India is providing
the computer training. In year 2014-15, 36 girls completed training. In
the year 2015-16, 100 girls from poor families have enrolled in the
program.
Dhingra
Foundation is also providing scholarships to some students for higher
education in Canada, USA, and India.
In 2014,
Dhingra Foundation (US) and Hindi Chetna (Toronto), launched the
International Hindi Literature Awards to encourage and honor Hindi
literature writers all over the world. The first Literary Award Ceremony
was held in Toronto, Canada in July 2014 and three outstanding
recipients were awarded honors in three different categories of
literature: Professor Hari Shanker Adesh, for life time achievements,
from North America, Canada and Trinidad; Mahesh Katare, a novelist from
Gawaliar, India and Sudarshan Priydarshani, a story writer from USA. The
2015 Literature Award Ceremony was held in Morrisville, North Carolina,
USA on August 30th, 2015. Recipients were awarded honors in
three different categories of Literature. The award to Usha Priyamvada
(USA) was for her overall contributions to Hindi literature; to Chitra
Mudgal (India) for her story collection "Painting Akeli Hain"( Samyik
Prakshan ); to Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi (India) for his Novel "Hum Na Marab"
(Rajkamal Prakashan).
